What is a Storm8 ID and why do I need it?
Basically, it's a way to identify yourself within any of the Storm8 franchise of games.  With one user-name, you can play in any of the social games that fall under the Storm8 platform.

Can I change my Storm8 ID?
No - so make an ID that you like that won't be embarrassing later on.

How do I receive gifts?
In order to receive gifts, you need to have neighbors.  Users have the option to send a gift daily to their neighbors.

Is there a limit of gifts I can receive?
There is an upper limit of 20 gifts per day.  In order to make sure you get 20 gifts daily, it is advised to have a minimum of 40 neighbors since there is no guarantee that each neighbor will send out a gift daily.  In essence, the more neighbors, the better!

There is no limit on how many neighbors you can send a gift to.  The only limit is one gift to a neighbor per day. 

How do I add neighbors?
Under "Social", go to the "Invite Friends" tab.  There you have to manually enter in another user's Storm8 ID.  Often, people who visit your bakery will post their Storm8 ID onto your wall so check it out from time to time.  You can also provide your Storm8 ID to others by posting it onto their wall - once they add you, you will gain a neighbor.  Also, posting your Storm8 ID onto another player's wall will allow others to add you through your post  It's an effective way to gain neighbors.


How do I find out how many more XPs I need to proceed to the next level?
Under the "Messages" section, press the "Profile" tab.  There you will see profile information including your bakery name, # of XPs to next level, social status level, # of neighbors, and restaurant rating.

Should I sell or store excess furniture, appliances, and other accessories?
Given that you only receive a fraction of the coins it costs to buy the excess item in the first place, it is advised that you store away any extra items just in case you might want to use it in the future.

  2. Winne, you can move your newly bought tiles, but its not as easy moving furniture around. When you buy a new tile, you must place it somewhere in your store. When you do that, your old tile is automatically stored away. Now if you want to move tile around, you have to replace it with a new tile or a tile that you have stored away. Kind of a round about process! I think they designed it this way because the touch screen interface made it difficult to move tiles around easily as furniture is often lying on top.

    1. You need to send a message to storm8 support for a game transfer. We just had to do it for my wife and it took about a week.

    2. you will have to install the game on your new phone and set up a new (temp) storm id. Then you will need to send the support team the name of the game, your original storm8 id, your new storm8 id, what level you were on, approx how many gems and coins you amassed, as well as anything else that you may remember.

    3. There are also transfer games were u will have to download a storm8 game like racing live. Play it until u can unlock the profile home page. Go to transfer and put in your old storm8 ID.

    You can transfer your progress from one iOS device to another iOS device if you send TeamLava the serial number for both devices. However, it does not seem possible to do so onto another OS such as Android.

    1. If you have work or school, I suggest baking 8-12 hr. dishes. Do the same at night. Doing this will earn you money, xp, and even gems! You can earn the gems by cooking the same dish over and over again. Once you level up, you can bake other things and build other appliances! Have fun!

    Just go to the bottom of the page of teamlava.com and click on "Transfer Account." You will need the UDID of both your old and new iPod. Just follow the directions... Good luck!

  10. Do you have track of number of Goals (limited holiday goals)? Right now I've reached Better Butter, Egging Him On and New Year's Bash.. Just got 5 more days to complete these goals.. wonder how many more there are.. and I still can't make anything with candy maker..

      The red potion is used to build a mermaid statue. The shamrock is used to build the Emerald Oven. The dragon scales and teeth are used to build a mini dragon baker.

    3. Potions, scales, and shamrocks are gifted to you by neighbors. You can request for them if the item that you are building requires them.

      You can store or sell furniture by pressing the design button on the bottom right corner, then selecting that item. The option to store, sell, and in some instances, to rotate is available. Keep in mind that you will only get a fraction of the item's cost when you sell it.

  14. Hi, for a while now whenever i try to acess bakery story from my ipod it just sticks on the loading screen forever and never moves on. I still get my notifcations from the app but i cant do anything on it. I didnt want to reinstall because i thought i would loose my progress, so what can i do? Please help!

    1. As long as it's the same ipod, you don't have to worry about losing your progress after re-installing. TeamLava games actually keep your progress in the cloud by using the udid of your ios device. So try re-installing and see if that fixes things. If you ever want to use a new ios device but want to keep your progress of your current game, make sure you know the udid of both your old and new device... good luck!

    1. To delete messages on your wall, simply go to your message wall, and click on the x mark on the upper right corner of the message you would like to delete. You cannot delete messages on other neighbors' walls.

    i have a lot of gifts that i accepted that are in "my gifts" but i can't use them. even when i buy a constructable appliance, i cant use the gifts i already have, i have to request and wait and the gifts are like taking up space. any suggestions/answers??

    1. If you have received constructible gifts, they can only be used if use them to build a constructible appliance. However, until you actually finish building the appliance, they will remain as inventory "my gifts." Good luck and let me know if you have more questions!

  17. ive been playing this game for over a year first on my ipad til it go stolen, now i have an andoird so i downloaded the app(of couse). when u start playing u have10 gems, i was saving them, then i lost 2, then used 2, left me with 6, i go back on about a hr later, i lost 2 more gems!! so i just used the last 2 on chairs. now my question is what the hell what happened to 4 of my gems?! and how would i get them back?? please help bc this isnt fair to me!

  18. I bought a ipad2 few months ago, and I would like to play my bakery story on my ipad2. I have been playing bakery story on my iPhone about over a year. However, when I install bakery story app on my ipad2, it start a brand new store, I was wondering can I just move my iPhone bakery story to my ipad2 bakery story?     1. Press "design" and click on the floor tiles and wallpaper that you want to sell. Once you click on an item, there will option to sell an item. However, you only get a fraction of the original cost an item you choose to sell - so keep that in mind. Items must be stored, moved, or sold one at a time.

  23. I had a dish to serve, suddenly it served in my appliance that used for closing the door. So i have to store it first. Then i found my dish nowhere. It notifs me that i should bake another. How i can bring it back?
    Or it is the rules and i have to save more appliances?
    Getting crazy bcos already 3times :'(

      I am not sure why that is happening. I would refrain from storing an appliance to solve the problem - you will lose prepared food that way. Next time, take a screen shot of the problem so I can take a look at it.

    Is it possible to delete my account and restart it? I kept using gems by accident. Like If I do not have money for cooking food then I click ok, I'll lost gems automatically and get coins but thats not what I want it. Thanks!

      Unfortunately, you cannot reset the game. The only way you can truly restart is by getting hold of a new piece of hardware that can install Bakery Story. I know how frustrating it can bje... As for gems - try to re-earn gems by getting promoted with each dish. On the 2nd and 4th promotion, you will receive a gem. I know it's a lengthy process, but I am afraid that's the only option aside from buying gems.

    1. It depends... you need to have the UDID of both your old and new iOS device. At the bottom of the home page of TeamLava - http://www.teamlava.com/, use the Transfer Account option to get this done. However, this is not possible without the UDID or with another OS such as Android.

There is a limit but it is not publicly displayed by Storm8, when you reach that limit, the messages on the bottom of your wall will begin to disappear to make room for the newer messages on the top of your wall. Over time, old messages will eventually all be gone as more posts are left on your wall.

    2. The reason it does not show up in your appliance list as buildable, meaning it will be grayed out and unclickable, is because you need to complete the prerequisite goal first to unlock it. It has nothing to do with you bakery level. When you complete the initial goal, the appliance will appear in your appliance list and will be buildable and clickable. The initial goal is what triggers the Main Goal. The prerequisite goal will always be the same: "Buy 8 of that goal's themed wallpaper and 12 of the themed floor for that goal. Once complete, the Main Goal can be started, allowing you to purchase the required appliance.

  31. HI, I've heared that we can only recieve up to 20 gifts sent from our neieghbors (not the requested one). I would like to know if i keep them without selecting "accept“ or "delet", will it only show the 20 gifts? If I delet one, does it mean the 21th one will show up?

    1. Yes, you can receive up to 20 gifts a day, but I believe you can only have 20 gifts in your queue at any single time. Therefore, when you delete a gift, a neighbor must send you a gift afterwards in order to receive a new gift... please correct me if I am wrong.

  34. Okay, so I've been playing Bakery Story for a lil bit now, and I put a bunch of food out two days ago. I've checked in and gone to put and cook new food, but the stuff I put out two days ago is still there, with the same amount of each?! Like Sugar Cookies still has 1067 after two days. What's wrong? What do I do?

    1. It takes a while for the customer flow to pick up. The only advice I can give you is to make sure you don't have your door blocked with furniture so customers can flow through. Good luck and keep us updated!

    1. As far as I know, you can't restart the game. You could perhaps contact TeamLava and ask them to delete your progress, but I am not sure if they will actually do so. The only way I know of is by using another device.

You cannot restart the game, the account is tied to your device and device's OS and stored on Storm8's cloud. so anytime you use another device of the same OS, it loads that account from your Android Google Play or iOS GameCenter account. Also, the Storm8 servers store the device's UDID so it will always use that account with that device. You will need to make a new account on a different device that is not the same OS as your old one. So if you have Android, you need iOS, and vice versa. Every device will have it's own account tied to it's UDID and stored on Storm8's servers, so even if you delete the game, it will automatically load the account saved on the server back to that original device. This is to prevent people from making multiple accounts and trying to end themselves gifts and things causing the servers to overflow and not allowing other people to download and enjoy the game also.

      If you have food cooking and you are not using "forever" appliances, then your food will spoil. However, your account will still remain active and all progress will remain. Enjoy your travels!

Your progress is actually dependent on your hardware ID (UDID) so it doesn't matter if you delete the TeamLava apps, reset your phone, etc. Your progress will always remain the same on the same device. If you start the game on a new app, all your progress will be lost unless transferring the game over. Good luck!

  40. You can collect 20 gifts from neighbors, so how many requested items can you collect. Are these part of the 20 gifted items or are they separate, and if separate is it 20 of these also? Also how many neighbors can you have? Thank you

    1. You can collect 20 gifts total including items that you request. So if you are wanting specific items, I recommend you decline random gifts that fall outside what you are looking for... this only works if you have more than 20 gifts being sent to you on a regular basis.

      As far as I understand, there is no limit to how many neighbors you can have. So stay active and keep networking with others... they will support you through gifts and tips - just make sure you return the favor!

    2. You need to clear your cache in your device and reload the game. If that doesn't fix it, then you need to email TeamLava Support to have them look into it to avoid your game file being corrupted and you will have to start over on a new bakery with no progress or coins, gems, etc. Once the game is corrupted, there is no way to recover it.

  44. Hi, I've been playing bakery story for awhile and I'm at level 31. But for some reason I can't seem to make the recipes that I want. When I try to make them in the recipe book they don't appear. But when I go to other bakeries they have them baked already using the same appliances that I have, even if they're at a lower level than me. I would really like to make new recipes like peppermint mocha and pb chocolate cake. PLEASE HELP ME! Thanks in advance

    3. You can only unlock certain appliances when the specific goal for it comes around every year, and then, there is a specific process you must do first before you can buy and build the appliance. See below:

    1. I am not aware of how to re-initiate goals. It seems like some goals are sporadic and seasonal - correct me if I am wrong.

    2. You have to wait until the goal is re-released. Many of them get removed from the game over the years and so the appliances are legacy items only accessible for players who completed the goals years ago before it became obsolete. If the goal is not removed, then players simply have to wait until it comes back around, but there is no guarantee as there are thousands of goals and they rotate yearly so it could be years before that goal ever comes back around, and most likely by now, they are goals from over 10 years ago and may no longer be available in the rotation list anymore.

  49. Hi,, how is everyone doing?
    I miss playing. Unable to receive email anymore due to something someone has setup using some other program to delete everything after downloading.
    I sent my new temp id but due to what I just mentioned above, the final steps in the process can't be completed
    Here is my id Ilovetodesign
    I was trying to see if I could find pictures taken of my bakery somewhere. Possibly in some of my neighbors videos that they have made for Youtube is where I found some of my neighbors. Only thing is was made before I even began to play the game.
    Some of the other problems I run into with a lot of things is characters being cut off the screen. So causes me to possibly enter something in wrong.
    One thing for example do I need to put brackets around things?
    Sometimes it looks like my email address in between the less than and greater than symbols < >
    sometimes even between the parenthesis ( )
    the square ones [ ]
    and sometimes the curly ones { }
    Also I don't even know if I have a password or not. Seems to possibly have one but looks like it is between one of the brackets but is diffiicult for me to tell what the characters are. I tried to copy and paste it into the forums and doesn't seem to work.

  50. I have just installed Bakery Story on my tablet but when I open it, it shows that another user exists. But I have never applied for a STORM8 ID before. How can that be? Is there any way to open a new account? Need help. TQ !

    1. I would advise contacting TeamLava/Storm8 directly about this. They use your a unique identifier from your physical device to track users. They may be able to reset your device's history for you.

    1. If you have already accepted the gift, I don't think there's a way to get rid of a gift other than using it to build items/serving the food. If a neighbor sends you a gift that you don't want, you should refuse it next time around.

  52. Pls help me. I have a goal that i need to buy new wallpaper in bakery the pink one. The problem is i already put that wallpaper in my bakery so i cant buy any longer. The only solution i know is to expand my bakery so i can buy more wallpaper or to sell those wallpaper and buy another one. The problem is i cant exapnd yet because dont have enaf money and i need 8 wallpaper. When u expand only 2 wallper will be added to your bakery. Pls pls help me how to sell those wallpapers.

    1. You need to replace the wallpaper you are trying to sell with another. If I remember correctly, you will have the option to either store or sell the wallpaper you are trying to get rid of. Keep you in mind that you will only get a fraction of the price you paid originally.

  53. hi! I'm in a big pinch here! :( I have to repair my ipod but they're going to erase everything! I don't want to lose my progress at all! The thing is, would deleting the app erase all my progress?
    I've already read some answers you gave and I was relieved when you answered we won't lose the progress. But the thing is, my friend deleted her bakery and when she reinstalled it, she had to start from level 1!

    2. Correction: it looks like Apple no longer supports UDID access. This means you may lose progress unless TeamLava/Storm8 has found a work around. Delete the app at your own risk!

  56. Hi there teamlava.I currently installed bakery story and restaurant story on my android tab. When it was finished I was suprised that the game was already level 44. And so I thought that it was normal. But then suddenly,tables and counter tops were moved or removed and the recipes that were on the stove weren't the ones that I left,then I saw the storm8 id that was logged on.I tried to find the log out button but sadly found none. Then I tried uninstalling and installing it but the level was still the same. I feel that I'm invading some one else's privacy. Can you help me out on this,I would really want to start my own story. And not someone else's story...
    Ps ..I even tried using a new accnt on play store before reinstalling the games...

    1. That person's account is tied to that device. There is no logout option. You must message TeamLava Support through the game in the Help/FAQ section to get them to look into that. Otherwise, that person's account is locked to that tablet and stored on Storm8's servers so there is no way to remove it.

    1. You cannot put another account on a device that already has one as that account is saved on Storm8's servers. The only way to put it on there is to message TeamLava Support via Help/FAQ, but note that they will erase his account to replace with yours and his will be gone forever and your account will be tied to his device and cannot be put on any other device.

    1. When you look in your item list you will see it with a tiny pink triangle in the bottom right corner of each item you own. The triangle will contain a number indicating how many of that item you own and can put onto your floor without having to purchase them.

    1. Both games have a maximum of 27 customers that can eat in your restaurant per minute so there is no difference in how many customers visit you in Restaurant vs. Bakery.

  63. I just re-downloaded bakery story to start over from scratch. I notice when I go to bake food it doesn't say the progress (level 1 on cookies, level 2 on brownies, mastered muffins, etc.) what do I do to get the progress on things I've baked to come up?

If you are starting on a new account, meaning you're level 1 and just completed the tutorial, you need to get one food to level 1 mastery to unlock the Mastery System and see the progress bar under each food to earn Gems. This needs to be done by completing the beginner goals which should get you to around level 8-10. Then you can start actually earning mastery points.

    2. If you are starting over, meaning you are at Level 1 and just completed the tutorial, then you need to fulfill the prerequisite requirements to unlock the Mastery System. To do this, you need to complete the main beginner goals that lead up to the cooking Mastery which will unlock during the Pierre goals. This should bring you to about level8 to 10. Once you get a prompt that you unlocked he cooking mastery, you will see the progress bar under the food items and can start cooking to earn mastery and gems. This may or may not trigger again though if playing on a device that already had a Storm8 account on it as that account is stored on their servers and tied to the device so that progress may not reset since it is already saved as Bakery Story progress linked to that device and OS (Android, iOS, Kindle, etc.). You will need a new device with a different OS from the original to start a truly new account and to trigger the Mastery goals again after completing the tutorial on an unlinked account.

  79. I've run into a weird glitch with Bakery Story. Every once in a while when I open it up, all the screens for all the goals that have happened since I started playing take turns popping up saying I've run out of time for them. It's super annoying because I have actually completed them, and in order to do anything else in my game I have to sit there and say no or x out of every single popup. I've been playing over a year at this point, so it takes me about 10 minutes to close them all. Why is this happening? Can it be stopped? Can I never see those old goals again, because that's what I want.

    1. This has been happening to me for the last couple of years, too - and, in trying to play between popups, I've lost a lot of gems. This is really frustrating. I just lost 25, and it takes too darned long to earn that many by baking. Help! I want my gems back.

  85. If I bake an item in one oven, and then I open my second oven...sometimes the item I just baked is qued up and ready for me to select again. Other times, I have to scroll through all the items to get the desired item again. Why does this happen? How can I just have my item highlighted when I open additional ovens.

  93. This may have already been asked but if I missed out on a goal to unlock ovens from past challenges due to being a new player, is there a way to trigger them again or have I missed the boat?

    1. Most goals are seasonal and have a countdown timer next to them in the goal list in the top left corner of the game. Once this timer is up, you may get a notification when reopening the game telling you that you missed out and can complete that goal for gems (usually only if you were part way through that goal). If that goal unlocked an oven, then you would now be able to buy/build them (requesting parts from friends as needed). If however their is no goal in the goal list which links with a locked oven in the marketplace then it is not possible to unlock it (for example an oven from Christmas 2013 might show but its too late to unlock).
      Sometimes on android there is a bug which causes old goals (which you may or may not have completed) to show up, telling you they have expired and letting you pay gems for that goal to complete. I'm not sure if clicking them will actually unlock or not as even goals you have completed will show as incomplete in the pop-ups created by the bug. And I think they are limited to goals which have taken place since you started playing. So maybe you missed a seasonal goal because you were too new and couldn't afford the goal items. That might be worth the gem unlock if it works!

  97. What happens to items I own and have stored when they are being discontinued from the shop?? I have 19 of the Frosty Branch table stored and this table will no longer be available in 3 days, do the ones I already own disappear as well? Also, say I put them out in my bakery for a while, can they be stored later on even tho the are no longer available to buy?
